I had the pleasure of working with Most Incredible Studio + Professional Black Girl on their latest drop, The Hot Comb N’ Stove. Below is a full description of the project.
Description
The Original Hot Comb N Stove™ is a limited-edition cultural composition designed in partnership with Dr. Yaba Blay, founding artist-in-residence of Professional Black Girl. Reimagining the sacred kitchen-press ritual using 462 LEGO® bricks, this archival art piece honors the tenderness, nervousness, discipline, and trust embedded in Black hair traditions.
This is not a toy. This is the stove that doubled as a salon. The hot comb resting in coils. The towel across your shoulders. The voice saying, “Hold your ear down.”
